Soon at Glue : Libertine Libertine SS12

Founded in 2009 the Danish brand Libertine-Libertine are growing from strength to strength. We take a look at their latest collection for Spring Summer 12, the colour coordinated theme is beautifully put together both through the styles and the backdrops used. With a series of workwear jackets and chinos, coloured button downs, knits and casuals. The collection also sees the camo trend across a gilet and backpack and a subtle turn up on chinos and shorts. One of the strongest campaigns we have seen for Spring Summer 12 and we look forward to the brand’s journey for ongoing seasons.

Soon at Glue : Han Kjøbenhavn SS12

The Han Kjøbenhavn collection showcases their Spring Summer 2012 looks through images as well as a spectacularly odd video shown below (when we say ‘odd’ we mean it in the positive). As personal fans of this collection, we are happy to see it grow into its own season after season. Han’s leather shirt is an interesting part of the collection and modeled well in the video. The army shirts in orane and denim are standouts as is the vest. Let us know your thoughts.

..lovingly conceived May 1st 2008 on the mean streets of Copenhagen, Denmark. Han is made of all the ingredients that form the funda- mentals of Danish design. We’ve put simplicity and traditional crafts- manship in a blender with originality

to create the shady characters you see today. Han frames draw our inspiration from timeless design. We’re talking simple, but innovative and aesthetically beautiful elements. We don’t follow trends, but we do follow classic design principles….

Soon at Glue : ” Postmodern ” Soulland SS 12

Soulland is proud to present Postmodern, August 4th 2011.

Today has been a big day for Soulland. Earlier this morning at Copenhagen’s city hall, the anticipated Soulland stamp was officially revealed to the world. We have been working on the stamp for the past year, and we are very proud of the outcome.

Working on the stamp and with Post Danmark has been a great source of inspiration for the spring/summer 2012 collection, Postmodern: “During the process of designing the stamp I studied different mailman uniforms and the esthetics of the Danish postal service and stamps in general. When I started working on our spring/summer 2012 collection it was only natural to continue with the theme” – Silas Adler, Soulland.

“The Postmodern collection references post inspired items like the striped mailman shirt, the mailman blazer and Post Danmark logo sweaters. I really enjoy working with uniforms but it can leave a collection looking a bit hard, so I softened up the feeling for spring/summer by adding roses to the inspirational mix” – Silas Adler, Soulland.

“With Postmodern we’ve been working with classic colors like black, white, navy and red. The contrast between red and white plays an important role for the overall visual look of the collection and there’s some yellow in there as well – inspired by Post Danmark’s logo. For the upcoming season we’ve also been working with prints and em- broidery and I’m very pleased with the result, especially with the printed shirts and embroidered sweatshirts. Overall the collection is very summer” – Silas Adler, Soulland.

Throughout the past year Soulland has been blessed with new experiences and interesting projects: we opened our first store located in Copenhagen, it is an old sexshop – we cleaned it up but kept the name, U.S. Import. In May we were nominated by DANSK Fashion Awards for ‘Designer of the Year’ and today a stamp designed by Soulland was introduced to the Danes.

On the business side, Soulland has experienced a 30% seasonal growth through the past 6 seasons, while the Soulland footwear collection has grown with more than 100% per season since its introduction in 2008. “We are particuarly proud that we have been able to gain better sales on our basic items. Our goal has been to increase profits for our retailers and it’s really working now” – Soulland CEO, Jacob Kampp Berliner.

Another agent has been added to the Soulland family and we are now working with International Playground targeting the North American markets.”It’s exciting to expand to new markets. A part of Soulland’s strategy is to grow where we see the demands is and there is definite potential for Soulland in the USA and Canada” – Soulland CEO, Jacob Kampp Berliner.

Soulland’s head designer, Silas Adler, founded Soulland in 2002 and what started as a small company specialized in print t-shirts has now grown into an established menswear brand with selected retailers around the world. Jacob Kampp Berliner joined the team in 2007. Today, Jacob is Soulland’s full-time CEO and head of sales.

Glue Clothings Love Copenhagers

The COPENHAGERS media project wants to promote people, places, brands, ideas, projects. We want to give visibility to all those folks out there that every day keep doing what they love moved from a sincere feeling. Because at the end of the day it is all about passions.

We mentioned them before but it’s now time to talk about the guys of GLUE CLOTHINGS once again. During the fashion week in Copenhagen they got here to see some new collections and we got the chance to spend sometime with them and to know more about what they do and sell.

We decided then to film a small teaser with some clips collected during those days waiting for the upcoming interview that we’ll take with them very soon.
