A Kind Of Guise started off as a student project during the summer of 2009. What was first nothing more than creating stuff for friends and relatives, soon developed into something much bigger. From those beginnings up until today, we’ve simply tried to continue doing what we love.

While things happen on a larger scale these days, most of the influence we draw originates from our close surroundings. Our first collection consisted of bags made of leather leftovers from an old medicine ball factory in the north of Italy. Today the range of our collection has grown, but we still try to keep the whole production unique and, primarily, as local as possible. Hence we work closely together with only a few select German manufacturers, choosing from local material and always keeping an eye on functionality and quality.

The collections of A Kind Of Guise feature a mix of a wide variety of styles, putting effort into every piece’s uniqueness with a special focus on color and detail.

Most importantly, we want to create long-lasting products with original ideas and great quality. Each item’s wearability is as important to us as its integration into the collection as a whole.

And no worries, we’ve done this before.

Han Kjøbenhavn was conceived on the street of Copenhagen in 2008. They have since produce a mix of military and work inspired pieces, mainly focussed on a strong denim foundation, as well as a series of historically referenced frames. Fashion designer Henrik Vibskov graduated from Central St Martins in 2001 and now shows at Paris Fashion Week, where he is currently the only Scandinavian designer on the official show schedule. Vibskov creates conceptual collections for men and women which are sold in selected boutiques around the globe including his own stores in Copenhagen, Denmark and Oslo, Norway.

Hideout These two guys from Verona believe firmly in the small but good conception. Their collection is only for men and it’s perfectly designed: from the nicely cut fabrics to the most hidden internal details.

Morrison was founded in 1981 by our parents. As from the beginning the philosophy was to bring quality knitwear on the market. In order to do so, we went to Scotland, which is known for creating the finest knitwear in the world.

During the nineties a lot of companies left Scotland and went to Asia for their production. We never did, as we wanted to stay true to our initial philosophy. So whether it is a plain V-neck or a fair isle waistcoat, all our garments are individually manufactured with great care by traditionally skilled craftsmen in either Scotland or Ireland. In 2009 my brother and I decided to inject a new impulse into the label. A fresh
breeze as it were. Of course we didn’t want to do away with the original style,
so we created a new side label: Howlin’. Morrison remained our ‘classic’ and
Howlin’ became the more playful counterpart full of colour, irony and owls.
The way of manufacturing remains traditional, but Howlin’ – Scottish slang for ‘smelly’ -
offers more room for fantasy in shape and pattern. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

What started as an orthotic insole company in the 20′s has now morphed into one of the most respected footwear brands on the planet. Odeur was founded in Stockholm in 2006 as a brand experiment, using a specific white, light and clean scent instead of a visual logotype to label the graphic and dramatic, yet playful garments. The first collection included a few t-shirt styles that where distributed amongst a few initial clients in Sweden and Japan.

Today Odeur is designed by Petter Hollström and Gorjan Lauseger and has spread to 17 countries, selling jeans, outerwear, accessories and fashion clothing. The collection is represented at, amongst others, Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong, Temporary Showroom in Berlin, Oki-Ni in London, Glue Clothings in Italy and OAK NYC in New York.

Christoffer Brattin—the man behind the Gothenburg, Sweden-based company—launched the first collection of men’s shoes in the fall of 2007. “I started Rokin because I thought there was a need for quality shoes at a nice price for the young urban man. I wanted to do a broad collection of both sports, casual and dressy shoes” says Brattin, a former Tommy Hilfiger Europe footwear designer.

Sessun was born in late 1995 in Marseille (France) by Emma François with the aim of proposing a large wardrobe for women. The philosophy of the brand is part of a larger lifestyle, the clothes are one means by which to express and communicate. Sessun involves talent from the world of graphic arts, design and music.

SOULLAND · Biography ·
Soulland’s head designer, Silas Adler (b. 1985), founded Soulland in 2002 and what started as a small company spe- cialized in print t-shirts has now grown into a well-established menswear brand recognized worldwide and represented in leading stores across Europe and the USA.
Soulland’s design esthetic is rooted in traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship and through great attention to the detailing of the clothes, classic menswear is reinterpreted with a present-day esthetic. This approach is recognizable in key Soulland items such as the Adler Fedora, which merges a classic fedora hat with a baseball cap, and in the Bomholt pants with elastic ribs.
In 2008 the Scandinavian fashion community acknowledged Silas Adler’s work with nominations for best Danish up-and-coming designer by Danish Fashion Awards and Scandinavian talent of the year by the Swedish Plus46 Award. And with six consecutive shows at Copenhagen Fashion Week and a presentation during Paris Men’s Fashion Week in June 2010 Soulland has made considerable noise to much critical acclaim from the Danish and International fashion media.

Stussy, or Stüssy (pronounced /ˈstuːsi/), is a clothing brand and private company started in the early 1980s by Shawn Stussy. The company is one of many that benefited from the surfwear trend originating in Orange County, California, but it has largely been adopted by the streetwear and hip-hop scenes

Vans is an American based manufacturer of sneakers, skateboarding shoes, BMX shoes, snowboarding boots and other shoe types catering primarily to the skateboarder/BMXer/snowboarder/surfer youth market. They also sell apparel and accessories catering to this same youth market.

The first-born was a one-style mid-cut shape called Classic.
